Assessment of Physical Fitness of Young Boys (20-25 years) in Relation with Diet

The nutritional status and Physical fitness of the subjects was assessed by standard methods.Average intake of energy, protein, carbohydrate and fat was 95.50 percent, 107.1 percent, 76.77 percent and 574.80 percent of RDA respectively. Consumption of fats and oils, milk and milk products, fruits and sugar were found to be higher than the recommendations. Its protein reduces risk of heart disease, osteoporosis and cancer. Soy incorporated food items were formulated and assessed for its interventional effect on health of elderly. Traditional recipes were standardized with 25 g soybean and supplemented in meals of Jalram Vridh Ashram residents.
