Farmer’s Awerness and Participation about Crop Insurance: An Econometrics Analysis

Asian Resonance (P: ISSN No. 0976-8602 RNI No.UPENG/2012/42622 VOL.-7, ISSUE-3, July-2018 E: ISSN No. 2349-9443 ) Abstract Sanjib Kumar Majhi Assistant Professor, Deptt.of Social Sciences, Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, Odisha, India The study attempts to examine the factors which are responsible for farmer’s awareness to crop insurance schemes and to know the determinants of farmer’s participation on crop insurance schemes in Bhadrak district of Odisha. Bhadrak district is one of the costal district and the river Baitarani flows, as a result every year crops are damaged either by flood or cyclone. Hence the some of the farmers have adopted the crop insurance schemes to crop loss. The findings indicate that there are significant relationship between farmer’s benefit and age, education and land holding.
