Two of the most interesting styles are the Sanganer and Ajrakh styles. This paper reviews the historical and technical aspects of the two forms. A comparative analysis of the two sheds light on the important similarities and differences between the two art forms, and helps understand them better. An attempt has been made to understand the reasons for the decline of the two art forms, and the recent attempts at their revival.
