Abstract

The freedom struggle of 1857, India's first freedom struggle is famous as a very important freedom struggle from historical, political, economic and cultural point of view. It has been considered by many historians to be a great revolt, peasant revolt, the Sepoy movement made by the soldiers disgruntled and the revolt by the king-maharaja or territorial kings. Indian historians have universally accepted that, for the first time, all sections of India, including the King-Maharaja, ordinary peasants, Hindu-Muslims and the masses of people living in India, also stood shoulder to shoulder for the first time to overthrow the British power. Took part in this movement together. Although this Mahasangram could not succeed due to so-called reasons, however, it has been defined by Indian historians as the people's movement. The Dalit classes living in India have also contributed significantly in this movement, their contribution cannot be forgotten.
