abstract

उन्नीसवीं शताब्दी के दूसरे दशक में राजप ूताना के हृदयस्थली क्षेत्र
अजमेर के सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रा ें के मध्य स्थित आदिवासी क्षेत्र मेरवाड़ा में 1823 ईके बाद ब्रिटिश सरकार ने सामाजिक, आर्थि क और श ैक्षणिक सुधारों क े
प ्रारम्भिक प्रयास किये जा े इस क्ष ेत्र के क्रमिक विकास के आधारभूत कारण बन
गये। अ ंग्र ेज शासित मेरवाड़ा का प ्रबन्ध अजमेर के चीफ कमिश्नर द्वारा किया
गया। यहाँ पर पानी की कमी तथा पहाड़ी भू-भाग के कारण लूटेरी प ्रव ृतियाॅ
विकसित होने लगी। जिस े बि ्रटिश सरकार ने 182र्3 इ . में मेरवाड ़ा बटालियन
स्थापित कर शिक्षा के द्वारा यहाँ के संकीर्ण परम्परागत रीति-रिवाजों म ें
परिवर्तन कर क्रमिक सुधार किया। आर्थिक समृद्धि ने इस क्षेत्र का े व्यापारिक
केन्द्र के रूप में विकसित किया। 185र्4 इ . में अस्पताल, 186र्2 इ . में ब्यावर
नगरपालिका, 17 जून, 1889 ई. का े कृष्णा काॅटन मील, 1 अगस्त, 190र्8 इ . को
द एडवर्ड स्पिनिंग मील, 29 जनवरी, 1925 ई. महालक्ष्मी मील इसक े अतिरिक्त
मेरवाड ़ और मारवाड़ के सहयोग से ऊन, कपास, घी, गुड़, शक्कर, दाना-मैंथी
तथा तिलहन आदि की फ ैक्ट्रियाॅ स्थापित की गई। मेरवाड ़ा का व्यापार कपास,
ऊन आ ैर तेल के संब ंध में उŸारी व पश्चिमी भारत तक विस्तृत हो गया जिसन े
यहाँ के क्रमिक विकास को उŸारा ेŸार विकासशील व गतिशील बनाया।

In the second decade of the nineteenth century, after the 1823 AD in the tribal region of Merwara, situated between the border areas of Ajmer, the heartland area of Rajputana, the British government made initial efforts for social, economic and educational reforms which became the fundamental reasons for the gradual development of the region. . The British-ruled Merwara was managed by the Chief Commissioner of Ajmer. Due to lack of water and hilly terrain, looter trends started to develop here. The British government established Merwara Battalion in 1823 and made a gradual improvement by changing the narrow traditional customs of the place through education. Economic prosperity developed the region into a trading center. Hospital in 1854 AD, Beawar Municipality in 1862 AD, Krishna Cotton Mile on June 17, 1889 AD, The Edward Spinning Mile on August 1, 1908 AD, Mahalaxmi Mile on January 29, 1925 AD Besides Merwad and Marwar With the help of factories of wool, cotton, ghee, jaggery, sugar, granule and oilseeds, etc. were established. Merwara's trade in cotton, wool and oil spread to Northern and Western India, which made the gradual development here dynamic and dynamic.
