Abstract
This paper focuses onvarious ecological and environmental
approaches used by Social and Cultural Anthropologists from the 19th
century. The main objective of this paper is to convey the concepts and
theory related to Ecological and Environmental Anthropology.In fact
Environmental Anthropology came to limelight for analysis and application
of anthropological knowledge to understand and solve the present
environmental issues. The input of the discipline plays a huge importance
in coping with environmental hazards and issues. Among other things, it
has added the understanding of our own stewardship for generations to
come. The search for holistic measures to meet the controversy between
nature and man lead to the multi-dimensional studies resultingnew schools
of thought and approaches.
