                                                   Abstract

 प्राचीन भारतीय चिन्तन में स्त्री का े मातृ शक्ति के रुप में पूजने की
परम्परा रही ह ै। हालांकि स्मृतिकाल में स्त्रिया ें की स्वतंत्रता एवं प ुरूषा ें के
साथ समानता का निशेधकिया गया ह ै। महाकाव्य काल मे सामान्यतः
सामाजिक सम्व्यवहारा ें में स्त्रियों के विरूद्ध असमानता या भेदभाव का
प ्रतिपादन नहीे किया गया है। वाल्मीकीय रामायण में स्त्रिया ें के सम्मानपूर्ण
स्थान तथा आदर्शात्मक एवं मर्या दायुक्त जीवन का चित्रण किया गया ह ै।
स्त्रिया ें का े शिक्षा प ्राप्त करने, परिवार में प ुरूषों के समान सहभागिता आदि
अधिकार प्राप्त थ े तथा किसी प ्रकार की स्त्रीजन्य कुरीतिया ें का समर्थ न
महाकाव्य मंे नहीे मिलता है। विभिन्न प्रसंगों के माध्यम से यह स्पष्ट हा ेता है
कि उस काल में स्त्रिया ें की स्थिति सशक्त एव ं सुदृढ़ बनाने पर बल दिया
गया ह ै। हालांकि शासन अथवा प ्रशासन में स्त्रिया ें की भ ूमिका का उल्लेख
नहीं मिलता ह ै। 

In ancient Indian thought, there has been a tradition to worship a woman as a mother power. However, the freedom of women and equality with men has been banned in the Smriti period. In the epic period, generally, inequality or discrimination against women has not been rendered in social transactions. Valmiki Ramayana depicts the respectable place of women and the idealistic and dignified life. Women had the right to get education, equal participation in the family as men, etc. and the support of any kind of feminine evils is not found in the epic. Through various episodes, it is clear that during that period, emphasis has been laid on making the position of women strong and strong. However, there is no mention of the role of women in governance or administration.
